« I wish I could be as bright as the probes I develop »
Biography
I started studying biology and chemistry at the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris VI), where I finally graduated in molecular chemistry. I started my PhD at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris in 2004 on the medicinal chemistry of carbohydrates, especially in the synthesis of oligosaccharides. In 2008, I joined Prof. Seeberger's group as a postdoctoral fellow (ETH Zurich and Max Planck Institute Berlin) where I worked on the automated synthesis of Glycocsaminoglycans and on multivalent carbohydrate systems. In 2010, I returned to Paris where I changed the subject of research and started to develop fluorescent probes and nanostructured sensors. In 2013, I was recruited at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) where I currently work at UMR-7021 (Strasbourg) and where I develop fluorescent and fluorogenic tools for bio-imaging.Research Topics
My research focuses on the development of molecular and nanostructured fluorescent probes for bio-imaging. Our probes are based on different systems providing effective fluorescent ignition effects or spectral modifications when detecting cellular constituents (plasma membrane, lipid droplets) or cellular events (calcium detection, pH variation, detection of reducing / oxidizing environment). Our goal is to develop brightt, versatile fluorophores that can be used in both multiphoton and super-resolution microscopy. I am also working on fluorescent and very bright nanoemulsions and small polymer nanoparticles that can be easily functionalized to develop fluorescent nanobiosensors.Fields of interest
